What is Shiatsu ?
Shiatsu is a form of Japanese body therapy based on similar principles to acupuncture, that uses finger pressure and other techniques such as stretching, palming and joint mobilisation. Shiatsu is deeply relaxing and can assist a wide range of physical and emotional conditions.
Shiatsu is based on oriental medicine by connecting to Ki (vital energy) to improve flow and promote body harmony.
Shiatsu is traditionally performed on a mat on the floor. A body cushion can also be used to increase comfort. Alternatively, a chair or couch can be used if working on the floor is not suitable for the patient. The patient is fully clothed. It is recommended to wear loose fitting clothes such as a T-shirt, tracksuit bottoms and cotton socks.
I’m a foodie and love to cook fresh nutritious meals and try out local delicacies wherever I go. I enjoy walking in the nature and appreciate the changing seasons.
